Hospitality CV for hotels, restaurants and front office

Hotels, restaurants and catering companies hire for service attitude and reliability as much as for experience. A hospitality CV should make three things obvious at a glance: how you look after guests, which languages you speak and when you can work.

Create my hospitality CV

Show guest service with specifics

  • Name the setting: a 200-room city hotel, a fine-dining restaurant, a resort pool bar, an airline lounge.
  • Describe what you handled: check-in and check-out, reservations, complaints, room service, table service, events.
  • Mention the systems you used, such as Opera PMS, a POS system or a reservation platform.
  • Use figures only if you know them, such as covers per shift or rooms on the floor.

Languages are a key skill

Guest-facing roles often depend on languages, especially in tourist areas and international hotel groups. Put a Languages section high on the page and give each language a clear level (native, fluent, conversational), or a CEFR level such as B2.

Certificates and training

  • Food hygiene or food safety certificates (for example, a level 2 food hygiene certificate or the local municipality's food handler card).
  • First aid, fire safety and allergen awareness.
  • Responsible alcohol service, where it applies.
  • Brand or hotel-group training programmes you completed.

Give the issuing body and the year, and keep expired certificates off unless you are renewing them.

Availability and practical details

Hospitality managers plan rotas, so state your availability plainly: shifts, weekends, night shifts, split shifts, and whether you can relocate or live in. In the Gulf, visa status and a transferable residency are often useful to mention; elsewhere, only add what the ad asks for.

Frequently asked questions

Should a hospitality CV include a photo?

It depends on the country. Photos are common in the Gulf and optional in much of Europe, but usually left out in the UK, US and Canada. Sira CV lets you show or hide the photo for each CV.

I have worked in many short jobs. How do I list them?

Group seasonal or short contracts under one heading if they were similar (for example, "Seasonal waiter, various restaurants, 2022–2024"), and give full detail to the most relevant roles.

Can I write my CV in another language for a hotel abroad?

Yes. You can write your CV in any of 12 languages, including English, Arabic, French, Spanish, German and Italian.
